9:00 a.m. 1st Destination: The Yuen Yuen Institute

At around 9:00 a.m., we will arrive at the Yuen Yuen Institute. The Yuen Yuen Institute was founded in 1950. The Institute is erected against a mountain, being blessed with a gorgeous view. It is a place for worshipping the deities of the three religions, namely Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. All the buildings in the Institute are artistically and classically decorated. The environment is ideal for both the worshippers and visitors.

Here is a map of the Yuen Yuen Institute.

At the main entrance of the Institute are the Arches of the Three Religions, signifying the advocacy of the three religions. The entrance is guarded by a pair of rock lions. Up the steps is the Yuen Shun Temple and further up is the Great Temple of the Three Religions. This temple is modelled on the Temple of Heaven in Beijing.

There are other scenic spots in the Institute, including the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower, the Oi Yat Pavilion, the Chi Chi Pavilion and the Lok Han Pavilion, the Yi Tsai (the dining hall which provides a great variety of delicious vegetarian dishes for visitors), the Altars of the Three Religions, the Ming Shing Hall (the oldest building in the Institute, for worshipping 呂祖,關帝,觀音,濟公).

There are also the Yuen Shun Temple, Kwan Yin Pond, the bronze statue of Confucius and the Precious Stone Hall (different animal statues made in stone).
